As a mom myself, I'm not sure what to say about Miley Cyrus' recent stunt for the Vanity Fair magazine. The Hannah Montana star was shot in a few sexy poses by renowned celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz. Miley bared her body for the shoot, albeit covered up by what appeared to be a satin sheet. Clearly, the young actress is growing up into a stunning woman but I believe her parents who were accompanying her in the photo shoot should have drawn the line earlier. Else, her public apology would not have been necessary. Thank Goodness there was none of those sexy costumes stuff.
Miley has issued a statement exclusively to E! News about her controversial pictures in Vanity Fair. "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," she says. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.'"
Vanity Fair shot back with the following respond: "Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley. In fact, when BRUCE HANDY interviewed Miley, he asked her about the photo and she was very cheerful about it and thought it was perfectly fine."
Me thinks it's not the star's fault, she is still a teenager after all. If anybody were to blame, I'd say blame it on her parents. Shame on you for letting your baby get exploited that way!
