Miss China Wins Miss World 2007

Much to the delight of the audience, 23 year old Miss China, Zhang Zilin was crowned Miss World 2007 in Sanya, China on Saturday. She was also the pre-contest favourite among 105 of the world's most beautiful and talented women. Miss Angola came in second and Miss Mexico was the 2nd runner up in the beauty pageant.

Zhang, a secretary from Beijing, was the tallest woman in the competition at 182 centimeters (6 feet). She is the first Chinese woman to have won the crown and certainly made China proud.

"There are 1.3 billion people behind me," she said during the interview stage of the contest, referring to China's population.

"If I win I want to become a link between the Olympic Games (in Beijing next year) and the Miss World Organisation."

And so she did! Congratulations to Miss China.
