According to NZHerald, police reports have confirmed that Owen Wilson did attempt suicide. Santa Monica police department logged a call made from Owen's home at 12:08pm on Sunday as "attempt suicide".
Wilson was reportedly found by one of his brother with his left wrist slashed and having ingested a quantity of pills. The 38 year old actor was said to be suffering from depression and his Memorial Day breakup with Kate Hudson was rumoured to have pushed him of the edge.
Wilson is currently recuperating and has released a statement, saying: "I ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

It makes me sad that someone who seems to have it all hit such a low that suicide felt like the only option. I really hope he can heal and continue to make movies that make me laugh.
