Kanye West's Mother Dies

Donda West, the mother of rapper Kanye West, has passed away at the age of 58, reportedly due to complications following a plastic surgery procedure.

A former chairwoman of Chicago State University’s English department, Donda West was also the chief executive of West Brands LLC, her son Kanye's business enterprise, and chairperson of the Kanye West Foundation, which works to decrease dropout rates and improve literacy.

The spokesman for the family stated “The family respectfully asks for privacy during this time of grief.”
