Soul Mate

This is the 2nd post extracted from my WP blog...

I believed I found my soul mate 8 years ago. We were colleagues then and our relationship created chaos for my family when they found out. My mistake, I was already engaged. I bowed to family pressure and coupled with some other things, the relationship ended.

I moved on and got married to my current husband, who is the love of my life and a dotting daddy to my kids. I consider myself lucky as we are financially independant and our relationship is, I should say, improving getting better over the years. Oh yes, I do love my hubs dearly and I will never betray him emotionally or physically unless he has done something to deserve that!Lol.

My soul mate and I have kept in touch occassionally over the years. I should say, we are friends but kept our distance. He has gotten married recently, to one lovely young woman. Nope, I wasn’t invited to the wedding and that was expected anyway. He sent me an SMS the night before his wedding to inform me. Truth be told, I was already aware of it as I had been informed by another long time friend. However, I thought it was rather sweet and thoughtful of him to inform me.

I stopped by his house recently to drop off his wedding present. He was not in and I had the pleasant opportunity of meeting his new wife. I doubt if she knew who I was, other than an ex-colleague.

As I write this today, I know I have mellowed and moved on in my life. I am happy for my soul mate and for myself. Both of us have found peace with each other and happiness with another.
